ISSUE | SOLUTION |
Foodini stalls / stops working while printing or while detecting the ingredient (when Foodini is above the test cup pushing out ingredient) | In the Print Status screen (which will be on-screen while printing and when Foodini is detecting ingredient) tap the arrow () on the bottom right corner to expand the menu, and tap CAPSULE HOME. - The ingredient may be too hard to print. Try a larger nozzle size or heating the ingredient to soften it. - The ingredient may have chunks that get stuck in the nozzle. Try a larger nozzle size or use a strainer to remove chunks (specifically when using smaller nozzle sizes.) - If you are using the advanced live print adjustments and making changes too fast and/or changing the values too much, a crash may happen. Use small adjustments and do not tap repeatedly. - If the stall happens during ingredient detection and the capsule gets stuck in the test cup, make sure the test cup is placed correctly. If you forgot to place the test cup in a previous print and ingredient is in the test cup holder space, you must clean the ingredient out of the space before placing the test cup, otherwise the test cup height will be incorrect. - If you really think the ingredient can be printed and you can extrude the ingredient from the capsule by hand, then try printing again. |
Print height is not correct / Foodini is printing too low | Check to make sure that the Foodini dish is placed properly. If not, it will be higher than it should be, creating errors in the print. If you checked that the Foodini dish is placed properly, you can adjust advanced user settings. If you are printing on a custom print surface, make sure the set height is correctly. |
Foodini doesn't detect a capsule in the bay | Make sure that the capsule holder is correctly placed, and the capsule is correctly placed. The capsule tag should be pushed all the way to the top of the capsule. Make sure all are clean with no food anywhere but inside the capsule, as food may block sensors. |
Foodini makes a weird sound when grabbing a capsule from the bay | Make sure that you do not overfill the capsule with ingredient. The capsule press should be slightly below the rim of the capsule, never above. |
Foodini is having random issues or functioning slower than normal | Make sure your software is up to date, and then restart Foodini. |
The camera display is frozen or not working | If you turn the camera on and off repeatedly, the camera may stop or the image will become frozen. Restart Foodini. |
Door doesn't open when I press the button on Foodini | Alternatively, try opening the door via print screen status. When it's convenient, reboot Foodini to re-activate the open door button. |
PRINT ISSUE | SOLUTION |
The print is collapsing or the layers are not vertically aligning properly | Decrease Distance Between Layers |
The nozzle is submerged in the previously printed layers while printing or the ingredient is collecting around the nozzle tip | Increase Distance Between Layers |
The ingredient doesn't come out well (or doesn't print at all) at the start of the print but starts printing fine shortly afterwards | Stop the print and then re-print changing no settings. Perhaps the ingredient wasn't all the way in the nozzle. If that doesn't work, first try to increase First Ingredient Flow - a majority of the time this will fix the issue. Or decrease the Ingredient Flow Speed. |
The ingredient is "cut" while printing; it should be a continuous print (no gaps) but it looks like a discontinuous print (with gaps) | Ingredient Flow Speed is too low - increase it |
The capsule drips and the ingredient does not stop coming out (either when the capsule nozzle side is pointing down or up) | Problem when filling the capsule - there is most likely an air vacuum. Try filling the capsule from the nozzle side. |
Ingredient comes out too much at the very start of the print | Decrease First Ingredient Flow; the more liquid the ingredient, the lower the value needed |
When using your own dish/print surface, the print base isn't correct | See Custom Printing Surface |
Many areas of the print are fine, but there are some print areas with unintentional gaps or holes | Decrease Line Thickness, increase Ingredient Flow Speed and try scaling the print down a little |
When printing a discontinuous print (intentional gaps in the print line), there is some ingredient in the discontinuous print area where there should be no ingredient printed | If the ingredient is sticky, increase the Jump Height; recommend starting with setting 10 |
When looking at the horizontal print lines, there are gaps/holes between the print lines (horizontal, not vertical layers) | Decrease Line Thickness |
