Auto Calibration of Ingredients

Auto Calibration of Ingredients

Foodini can help you fine-tune or calibrate your ingredients for best results by doing a test very similar to calibrating a paper printer: that is, the printer creates a test and you pick the best results.

Simple explanation

In the ingredient screen, select the nozzle you are using and a similar ingredient. Then select CALIBRATE:

When you are ready to start the test, press start.

Foodini will ask you to select the capsule that contains the ingredient you want to calibrate. Make sure you have put a capsule filled at least 50%.
Do not use the silicone mat or any other dish. Auto-calibration is for use with the Foodini dish only.

Foodini will print several lines in 4 test columns:

Once the calibration print is complete, choose the best line print from each test column using the guidance as indicated in the above image.
Note that line D prints slightly longer than the others. That's simply to easily identify where the mid-point is in the test columns.

The ingredient calibration can be repeated multiple times until the results are satisfactory. Line D will now be the results you chose from the previous calibration process.

That's all you really need to know!

Detailed explanation

Foodini test prints 4 of the most common advanced settings that require adjustments:

Row D is the original variables, no changes. The rows above and below row D are results of changing the variable by the indicated percentage. You can see the variable settings by expanding the ingredient screen:

Note that you will need to save the calibration settings to see the variables adjust.

You can also change the calibration without running the actual print test. For example, if you want to increase the print speed by 30%, tap CALIBRATE, and choose result A for test 2.
